David-HeadleyPakistani-American terrorist David Headley’s cross-examination by defence lawyer will begin from 22nd of this month. He will be examined by key 26/11 plotter Abu Jundal’s lawyer Abdul Wahab Khan from 22nd to 25th of March. Mumbai’s Sessions Court today passed an order stating that David Headley will depose via video link for this second round of questioning.

While the prosecution has already completed its questioning in the first round that lasted a week beginning 8th February; Abu Jundal’s lawyer had then sought four days to cross-examine Headley. Subsequently Judge G A Sanap had directed Special Public Prosecutor Ujjwal Nikam to contact US authorities to confirm the dates for Headley’s second round of deposition.

In his first round of questioning, Headley had made some startling disclosures as to how Pakistan’s intelligence agency ISI provides financial, military and moral support to terror outfits Lashkar-e-Toiba, Jaish-e-Mohammad and Hizbul Mujahideen. Deposing from an undisclosed location in US, Headley had also shared details of LeT’s planning and execution of the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks.

Headley, who has turned an approver in the case, had also revealed that Ishrat Jahan; who was killed in an alleged fake encounter in 2004 in Gujarat; was indeed an LeT operative. Headley is currently serving a 35-year jail term in the US in connection with the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks case.
