Mumbai Police has filed an application in the Sessions’ Court seeking directions for US authorities to produce LeT terrorist David Headley before the Court via video conferencing. The application says the court may kindly issue a Letter of Request to the US District Court of Illinois to produce Headley.
It also says Headley deserves to be tried along with Jundal as both of them are co-conspirators and abettors behind the 26/11 terror attack.
The application adds that the charges against Headley are distinct and separate than the offences under which he has been punished in the United States. Mumbai Police has also said that Headley had entered into a plea bargain agreement with the US government in 2010 and thereby willingly and voluntarily agreed that he has committed the conspiracy.
