Samajwadi Party patriarch Mulayam Singh Yadav today opposed the alliance between his party and the Congress. Talking to media in New Delhi, Mr. Yadav said, he will not campaign for this alliance during the ensuing assembly elections in UP.

He said, there was no need for the alliance as the Samajwadi Party was capable enough to win the elections alone.
BSP, BJP term Cong-SP alliance as unholy & opportunistic
BSP and BJP have criticised the Congress and Samajwadi Party alliance terming it unholy and opportunistic.

Speaking to media in Lucknow on Sunday, state BJP chief Keshav Prasad Maurya said that Akhilesh Yadav knows it very well that his party is going to lose election very badly as people are ready to teach him a lesson for all the lawlessness, atrocities against women and cases of land grabbing besides sheer corruption.

He questioned if Akhilesh was so sure as he is claiming to win 300 seats then why he needed the crutch of Congress.

While BSP chief Mayawati in a press note termed the Samajwadi Party- Congress alliance as unholy one which has been forged on the behest of BJP.

Taking a dig on the praising of Mayawati by Rahul Gandhi, senior BJP leader and union minister Kalraj Mishra, in a tweet message said that way Rahul was praising BSP chief, it shows that BSP is third and hidden part of the alliance.
