The arrival of timely monsoon in different parts of the country has brought a sense of relief for the people who were battling against severe a heat wave. The Monsoon also bring hopes for farmers who are the lifeline of the country’s agri-based economy.
While, advancement of Monsoon into major parts of the country, is bringing cheers to the face of the people, incessant rains are also triggering trouble in a few states like Himachal Pradesh, Assam, Maharashtra, Jammu and Kashmir and a few North-Eastern states.
According to The India Meteorological Department (IMD), active monsoon conditions are likely to continue over East Central, Northwest & West India during the next 4-5 days. Similarly, an advance of Southwest monsoon into some more parts of Gujarat, Rajasthan, Haryana, Punjab and remaining parts of Western Himalayan Region is likely today, the 26 th June 2023.
The Southwest Monsoon has further advanced into some more parts of north Arabian Sea, some more parts of Gujarat, Rajasthan, Haryana and Punjab, remaining parts of Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh today, the 26th June. Conditions are favourable for further advance of Southwest Monsoon into some more parts of Gujarat, Rajasthan, remaining parts of Haryana and Punjab during next 2 days.
The Low Pressure Area now lies over north interior Odisha and adjoining south Jharkhand & north Chhattisgarh. It is very likely to move west-north westwards towards north Madhya Pradesh during next 2 days. An east-west trough runs from northwest Rajasthan to Northeast Bay of Bengal in lower tropospheric levels.
A fairly widespread to widespread and light to moderate rainfall with isolated thunderstorm & lightning is very likely to continue over the region during next 5 days. And isolated heavy to very heavy falls are very likely over Odisha on 26th of June over Assam & Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh on 29th & 30th June. Similarly, an isolated heavy rainfall is also likely over parts of East India during next 2 days and over northeast India during next 5 days.
Light to moderate and fairly widespread to widespread rainfall with isolated heavy falls are very likely over Western Himalayan region and over the plains of northwest India during the next 5 days. Isolated heavy to very heavy rainfall with extremely heavy falls are very likely over East Rajasthan on 29 th June, heavy to very heavy rainfall on 26th, 27th & 28th June.
An isolated heavy and heavy to very heavy rainfall is very likely over Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh on 26th & 27th over West Uttar Pradesh on 26th June. Light to moderate and fairly widespread to widespread rainfall with isolated heavy to very heavy falls with thunderstorm & lightning are likely over the regions including Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh & Vidarbha during next 3-4 days.
An isolated extremely heavy rainfall is very likely over Chhattisgarh on 26th, East Madhya Pradesh on 26th & 27th, West Madhya Pradesh on 27th & 28th and over Vidarbha on 27th June. Likewise, light to moderate scattered to fairly widespread rainfall is likely during next 5 days and isolated thunderstorm & lightning is very likely over the region during next 2 days. Isolated heavy to very heavy rainfall is also likely over Kerala on 27th June.
In South India, an isolated heavy rainfall is also likely over Telangana on 26th, coastal Karnataka during 26th to 30th, South Interior Karnataka on 29th & 30th June. Similarly, in West India, light to moderate fairly widespread to widespread rainfall is very likely over the region during the next 5 days. An isolated heavy to very heavy rainfall is likely over Konkan & Goa, Gujarat State and Ghat areas of Madhya Maharashtra during 26th to 30th June.
