Results for all the 40-member Mizoram Assembly have been declared where Mizo National Front MNF has got clear majority by winning 26 seats followed by Congress 5, BJP one and Independent 8 seats.
Counting of votes is still underway for the Assembly elections in Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Telangana.
In Mizoram, Chief Minister Lalthanhawla has lost both the seats. He has been defeated by T. J Lalnuntluanga of MNF in Champhai South constituency. He has also lost Serchip seat to Independent Lalduhoma.
MNF supporters across the state assembled in front of various counting centres in Aizawl and other towns and were seen dancing, waving party flags, greeting and hugging each other.
Absolute majority for TRS in Telengana
In Telangana, 107 results have come in so far. TRS has won 81 seats and is leading in 6. Congress bagged 17 and leading in 4. AIMIM won 6 and leading in 1 constituency. BJP got one seat. Others won 2 and leading in one.
State Caretaker Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao won by over 51 thousand votes. He defeated Congress candidate Pratap Reddy from Gajwel. TRS senior leader Harish Rao won from Siddipet by over one lakh 20 thousand votes against his nearest TJS rival Bhavani Reddy. Raja Singh of the BJP won Goshamahal seat.
In Rajasthan, 113 results have been declared. Congress has won 60 constituencies and leading in 44 while BJP got 37 and is leading on 32. BSP got 4 and RLD one.
Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje has won from Jhalarapatan defeating her nearest Congress rival Manvendra Singh who left BJP just before the elections. Speaker of state Assembly and BJP candidate Kailash Chandra Meghwal won from Shahpura reserved seat.
