Nepal Prime Minister K P Sharma Oli today said the mission of his visit to India was to clear misunderstandings that surfaced between the two nations following adoption of the new Constitution. Delivering a lecture at Indian Council of World Affairs in New Delhi, Mr Oli said he had met Prime Minister, President and other top leaders and clarified how Nepal seeks to advance as a nation with the help of India towards prosperity.

Speaking on the occasion, External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj lauded Nepal’s political leadership for bringing about the new Constitution. She also praised the expeditious manner in which the Nepalese government came out with two amendments.

She said they meet some of the aspirations of the Madhesi community in the Himalayan nation. The Nepalese Prime Minister is on a six day visit to India. He arrived in New Delhi last Friday and held bilateral talks with Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday.
