Congress has demanded that Dearness Allowance should be merged with Basic Pay in the 7th Pay Commission. Briefing media in New Delhi, party spokesperson Ajay Maken said actual salary increase amounts to only 14.29 per cent, which is a betrayal.
He said, employees got two additional increments in the 6th Pay Commission, but now it has been recommended to be scrapped.
He said 52 allowances that government employees used to get have now been abolished by the 7th Pay Commission.
He said transport allowance was linked with DA earlier, but now transport allowance will not increase with inflation.
