In the Melbourne cricket test, India is just two wickets away from the victory against Australia, which requires 141 more runs with just 2 wickets in hand in their second innings.

At stumps, on the fourth day today, hosts were 258 for 8 chasing the victory target of 399 runs set by India.

Patrick Cummins, who took maximum Indian wickets in their second innings, performed from the bat too and was the top scorer for Australia with 61 runs.

 

For India, Spinner Ravindra Jadeja claimed three wickets while pacemen Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Shami bagged two each.

India declared its second innings at 106 for 8 this morning after resuming their innings at the overnight score of 54 for 5. The four-match series is currently levelled at 1-1.

Earlier, India beat Australia by 31 runs in the first Test at the Adelaide on 10th this month. Chasing a target 323, Australia was all out for 291 in 119.5 overs on the final day.

In the second cricket Test at Perth on the 18th, Australia bouced back beating India by 146 runs to level the four-match series 1-1.
