Meghalaya Chief Minister Mukul Sangma today met Home Minister Rajnath Singh in New Delhi and discussed various issues. During the meeting, Mr Sangma briefed the Home Minister on the prevailing law and order situation in the State and the steps taken to tackle the insurgency problem, especially in Garo hills region.

Sources said, besides killing of an Intelligence Bureau officer and a trader in Garo hills, bordering Bangladesh, also figured in the discussion.

The IB officer and the trader, who were travelling in a public transport, were kidnapped by Garo militants last month and their bodies were recovered after nearly a month.
