Bahujan Samaj Party supremo Mayawati has termed the note ban move of centre as a black chapter in the history of India. Addressing a press conference in Lucknow today Ms. Mayawati said that much was expected from PM Modi that he will elaborate about how much black money was recovered during November 8 to December 30 period, but he made no comments on it on Dec 31 and in his address in Lucknow yesterday.

Refuting the allegation about her party to be casteist one, she said that BSP is a party which takes along every section of the society with it. She said that the list of party candidates will be released just after the announcement of the election schedule but she elaborated the numbers of tickets to be given to these sections.

She said that BSP has decided to give 106 tickets to OBCs, 97 to Muslims, 87 to scheduled castes, and 113 to upper castes. Among upper castes, Brahmins will get 66, Kshatriya 36 and Kayasth- Vaishya and Punjabi 11. She also ruled out any poll alliance with any party saying BSP will go to poll alone and on its own. ​
