The massive fire in Uttar Pradesh that broke out in the Anwarganj area of Kanpur Nagar district has been contained.
Commissioner of Kanpur Rajasekhar said that no person was injured in the incident and more than 100 firefighters struggled since early morning in dousing off the fire. He said that it will take a few hours more to complete the rescue and relief operation.
The fire broke out at AR Tower at around 2 am in the morning and quickly spread to adjoining areas.
Apart from the firefighters from Army and Air force, Firefighters from adjoining districts were also called in to supplement the firefighting operations at the Kanpur market which is a wholesale market of apparel and hosiery items.
The cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained.
