INDIA NAVY TIAMassive combing operations are presently going on in Uran and Karanja areas in Raigad district of Maharashtra, where two school children spotted 5-6 suspiciously moving persons on Thursday morning. The movement was seen near Navy base INS Abhimanyu.

A multi agency search operation was launched yesterday itself after the school kids reported the matter to the school principal who then alerted the police. A high alert has been issued in Mumbai city, Navi Mumbai and Raigad district and forces have been deployed at key installations in the metropolis.

The ongoing combing operation in Uran and Karanja areas near Mumbai is being carried out with the help of Indian Navy’s western naval command, Coast Guard, CISF and the Quick Response Team. However, there are no reports of anybody being apprehended in the case even after 24 hours.

Besides National Security Guards (NSG), Marine Commandos have been deployed in the coastal town while another unit of NSG has been kept ready in New Delhi. Maharashtra Chief Minister is closely monitoring the situation and is in constant touch with Mumbai DGP, Mumbai CP and Intelligence Commissioner. All schools and colleges in the area remained closed today as a security measure.
