Maoists struck again in Bastar region of Chhattisgarh today as they blew up a Anti landmine vehicle killing four security personnel and critically injuring eight others in Dantewada district.
Maoists ambushed a team of Chhattisgarh Armed Force when it was on a patrolling near Cholnar, about 25 Kms away from district headquarters of Dantewada. Maoists first triggered a blast and later opened indiscriminate fire.
Four Chhattisgarh Armed Force personnel were killed in the incident. Security forces, led by para-military, have launched a massive combing operations in the area to flush out the Maoists.
This is the third major attack during the last three days with the first one being an ambush of security forces belonging to the Special Task Force (STF) in the dense forests of Pidmal near Chintalnar in Sukma district killing seven jawans.
Later on Sunday night, the rebels attacked a team of Border Security Force (BSF) personnel, killing one of them in Kanker district.
