Trinamool Congress chief Mamata Banerjee today sworn-in as the chief minister of West Bengal for second successive five-year term. She took oath in the name of Ishwar and Allah.
Governor Keshri Nath Tripathi administered oath to Mamata and 41 other minister
Ms Banerjee took oath in Bengali. The 42-member ministry, of them 18 are new faces, has seven ministers from the minority community. Ms Banerjee is among the four women representatives in the ministry.
Among the dignitaries present were Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitely, his ministerial colleague Babu Supriyo, Bihar Chief Minister Nithish Kumar, his UP counterpart Akhilesh Yadav, former chief ministers Lalu Prasad Yadav and Faruque Abdullah.
Prime Minister of Bhutan Tshering Tobgay, Bangladesh Industry MinisterAmir Hossain Amu and the Deputy High Commissioner in Kolkata were present on the occasion.
Former India captain Sourav Ganguly and many former cricket and football players were also present on the occasion.
The party swept the electoral mandate bagging 211 seats of the 294-seat Assembly. The oath taking ceremony, held at the grand Red Road, was administered by Governor Keshri Nath Tripathi.
