US State Department Spokesperson Ned Price has said that major defence sales by US to India demonstrated Washington’s commitment to India’s security and sovereignty. At his daily news conference yesterday, Mr Price said that authorisation for defence sales of 20 billion US Dollar to India has already been made. He said that these offers of advanced US defence platforms demonstrate their commitment to boost strategic partnership with India.
The State Department also expressed satisfaction at the return of economic and political normalcy in Jammu and Kashmir. Mr Price said, return of the full economic and political normalcy in Jammu and Kashmiris is consistent with India’s democratic values.
