Says Don’t Have Numbers After Ajit Pawar’s Resignation

AMN / MUMBAI
In a major twist to the Maharashtra Political drama, Devendra Fadnavis, who took over as chief minister on Saturday, resigned after his deputy Ajit Pawar tendered his resignation in a major blow to the BJP in the state.
Addressing the media, Fadnavis blamed its erstwhile ally Shiv Sena for bargaining for a better deal. “We kept clarifying that we never promised CM post. We were asked to form the government but we refused, saying Sena is not with us. The Sena made fun of itself by claiming it has figures.
SC orders to conduct floor test of Maharashtra assembly by tomorrow
Devendra Fadnavis will tender his resignation to Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari by this evening. This comes soon after Ajit Pawar resigned as the Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra three days after their dramatic swearing-in ceremony on Saturday.
“We had from day one taken the position that we won’t break anyone, we won’t do horse-trading. I give my best wishes to those who are to form the government. I am sure they will give a good government but I am afraid, this govt will get buried under its own burden. Sena leaders yesterday took Sonia Gandhi’s oath. Such helplessness for power for Sena. Congratulations on that helplessness. Only to remove BJP, they have all come together. The BJP will work as an effective opposition. We will give voice to the people. Now, this government with three wheels,” Devendra Fadnavis
