Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has announced an ex-gratia of Rs 10 lakh each to the next of kin of the deceased in the Parbhani incident. Five people had died in the Parbhani district of Maharashtra yesterday while cleaning the safety tank of the toilet.
Expressing grief over the incident, the CM also directed to provide all necessary medical treatment to the worker injured in the accident. According to officials, five people fell into the safety tank and died of suffocation while one person was seriously injured while cleaning the safety tank of a farm located in Sonpeth taluka in Parbhani last night.
As soon as the information about the incident came to light, the police along with the citizens reached the spot and the sixth laborer was sent to a nearby hospital for treatment.
