At least Eight people were killed and seven others were injured in an accident that took place in Dapoli in Maharashtra’s Ratnagiri district yesterday evening. The incident took place at Asud on the Dapoli-Harne road where a speeding truck rammed into a passenger rickshaw.
Chief Minister Eknath Shinde expressed his condolences and announced an ex-gratia of five lakh rupees each to the families of the deceased from the CM’s Relief Fund. Local authorities rushed to the spot as soon as the incident was reported. The injured were admitted to nearby hospitals. Further investigation is underway.
