Special NIA court of Patna today sentenced life term to all five convicts in the 2013 Bodh Gaya serial bomb blast case. Judge Manoj Kumar Sinha pronounced the judgement. The court on May 25 had convicted all five in the case.

Two monks and several others were injured in serial blast on 7th of July in 2013 at Mahabodhi temple in Bodhgaya. NIA had filed the chargesheet on 3 June 2014.

Three of the convicts, Hyder Ali alias Black beauty, Imtiaz Ansari and Mujibullah Ansari are from Ranchi and Umar Siddiqui and Azhar Quraisi are from Chhattisgarh. Ten cylinder bombs went off one after another, at Mahabodhi temple. Three live bombs were also recovered from the spot, which were later defused.

Sentenced persons are also accused of Gandhi Maidan bomb explosion in Patna which took place on 27 October 2013 during Narendra Modi’s rally.
