The Maharashtra pavilion at the 37th India International Trade Fair here at Pragati Maidan was inaugurated by union commerce and industry minister, Suresh Prabhu in the presence of the state’s minister of state for industry, Pravin Pote Patil.

 

Speaking on the occasion, Mr Prabhu talked about having an international trade as a thrust for developing country’s GDP and economy. He said all efforts are being made to provide a conducive environment for empowerment of India’s business community.

 

Mr Patil highlighted the progress the state has made in several sectors of economy. He said all efforts are being made to make state more investment-friendly.

 

The state pavilion has stalls highlighting progress it has made in the field of information technology. Its own theme is Start up Stand up Maharashtra. This year fair’s theme is Start up India Stand up India.
