Voting is being held on eight seats spread in the tribal dominated Malwa Nimar region of Madhya Pradesh today. More than 50 lakh tribal votes may play a decisive role in these seats.
79 candidates are in the fray in the eight Lok Sabha constituencies of the fourth phase, Indore, Dhar, Ratlam, Khandwa, Ujjain, Mandsaur, Khargone and Dewas. In which there are 74 male and 5 female candidates. Maximum 14 candidates are in Indore and lowest 5 candidates are in Khargone.
Some prominent candidates of this phase include sitting MP Shankar Lalwani from Indore, Kantilal Bhuria from Ratlam, Dnyaneshwar Patel from Khandwa, Gajendra Singh Patel from Khargone, Sudhir Gupta from Mandsaur, Anil Firojia from Ujjain and Mahendra Singh Solanki from Dewas.
In this phase, 18 thousand polling stations have been set up for a total of more than 1 crore 63 lakh voters. Among the voters, there are about 82 lakh 48 thousand male and 81 lakh 22 thousand female voters. In this phase, the role of around 45 lakh voters aged between 18 to 29 years is considered important.
