Lucknow Metro train Thursday flagged off for its trial run by Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav, along with Samajwadi Party Chief Mulayam Singh Yadav. Four coaches of the Metro are to cover around four kms between Transport Nagar and Single Nagar Metro stations.
The Chief Minister also dedicated the Metro Train Depot to the public, the hub of Metro project at Transport Nagar of Lucknow.
Equipped with state of the art safety devices, Lucknow Metro will be available to public from 26th of March next year. The first phase of the project, famously known as North South corridor, from Lucknow airport to Munshipulia is being undertaken with a total length of 23 Kms covering 21 stations.
The total project cost of this phase of Lucknow Metro Rail Corporation is around 7,000 crores. It is a joint project of UP government and central government.
