A total of 4,87,013 voters, constituting 56.87 % have exercised their franchise for which polling for the lone Lok Sabha seat was held on Friday  in Mizoram.

A statement from the Chief Electoral Officer, Mizoram said that 36 – Tuichawng Assembly Constituency in Lawngtlai District registered the highest voter turn-out with 72.48 % while 13 – Aizawl East – One in Aizawl District registered the lowest voter turn-out with 48.22 %.

Amongst the 11 districts of Mizoram, Mamit District has registered the highest voter turn-out with 63.45%.

The oldest voter exercising his franchise yesterday was Pu Thanglianhluma of 104 years old from Lawngtlai College Veng in Lawngtlai District, who was born on 25.03.1920. A total of six candidates were in the fray in this Lok Sabha polls.
