Two people were arrested over the criminal use of drones that brought London’s Gatwick Airport to a standstill for three days, ahead of the busy holiday season.
Sussex Police confirmed today that they arrested a man and a woman after raids were carried out yesterday night in the area around the airport. The police called on the public to remain vigilant and help with their investigations.
The airport was plunged into chaos on Wednesday night when drones were spotted hovering near the runway. Hundreds of flights were cancelled leaving thousands of passengers stranded.
Meanwhile, Gatwick Airport said that it is open for flights. However, it urged passengers to check with their airline before travelling.
