Rail services resumed at around 12 15 noon after the Tiruvallur bound electric train from Chennai derailed at Basin Bridge Station at around 9.30 am today.
Railway Officials who rushed to the spot immediately said that there was no damage to life or property. Passengers in the train safely deboarded the train and took to safety.
Efforts were taken to restore rail services as soon as possible as all the trains reaching Chennai Central pass through Basin Bridge station.
