Congress party today termed the new notification on mid-day meal linking the scheme with ‘Aadhaar’ as a ploy by the Centre to ‘push the future of the children towards darkness’.
Addressing mediapersons, AICC spokesperson, Bakht Charan Das said, ”Duty of the State is to raise the level of nutrition and the standard of living and to improve public health. The State shall regard the raising of the level of nutrition and the standard of living of its people and the improvement of public health as among its primary duties.”
But the February 28, 2017 decision of PM Modi to get Aaadhar cards made for children between the age group of 5 to 14 has raised a question mark over the scheme. Even the Supreme court has ruled that Aaadhar is not necessary for mid-day meal then is not the decision of Modi government anti-human and deplorable? he asked.
