The CPI-M-led Left front in West Bengal today announced its first list of candidates for the state Assembly elections to be held in April-May. The Front chairman, Biman Bose last evening released the list in Kolkata. In all, 116 Front candidates were declared, 68 of them are new faces, 16 women and 25 belonging to the minorities.

One or two more lists will be declared later on, Mr. Bose said. Addressing media persons, Mr. Bose clarified, Front candidates have been finalized keeping in mind the under-discussion electoral understanding with Congress and well as other parties like NCP, RJD and JDU.
