Third and most important bathing festival of Mauni Amavashya at ongoing Prayagraj Kumbh Mela began today.
This is second Royal Bathing- Shahi Snan Parv at which Akharas are taking a holy dip along with devotees from across the world. Prayagraj Mela authority has claimed more than one crore devotees and pilgrims have already thronged at Mela Area.
A large number of devotees are continuously reaching at Kumbh Mela Area. Commissioner Prayagraj Division Dr Ashish Kumar Goyal while briefing media this afternoon told that more than one crore devotees have already taken bathing since yesterday. Mr. Goyal said number of devotees is expected to surpass bathing of Makar Sankranti.
More than Twenty thousand security personnel have been deployed along with Integrated Control and Command Centre with around 1400 CCTV cameras at Kumbh Mela area and different places in the city.
Forty Snan Ghats have been prepared at Sangam and its radius of 8 Km in view of crowd management and convenience of devotees. 12 NDRF and SDRF teams, 37 companies of Central Para Military Armed Forces have been deployed to meet out any eventuality.
Darshan of Akshayvat and holy Saraswati Koop has been closed from today for the next three days in view of a heavy downpour of devotees. Medical Services has been put on with 36 medical centres would remain open round the clock. Four water ambulance and one air ambulance beside high tech 86 ambulances have been pressed into the service.
