BJP MP Om Birla is the NDA nominee for the Lok Sabha Speaker’s post. Mr Birla is a two-time MP from Kota, Rajasthan. The nomination for the post will take place today and the election is scheduled to be held tomorrow.
Meanwhile, Om Birla’s wife Amit Birla told media that it is a very proud moment for the family. “It is a very proud and a happy moment for us. We are very thankful to the cabinet for choosing him,” she said.

Once nominated, Birla, who won from Kota-Bundi parliamentary seat in Rajasthan, will easily become the speaker as the National Democratic Alliance has a clear majority in the House.
If necessary, the election for the post may be held on Wednesday.
