In Kolkata, the State Health Department is keeping a special watch at China Town, a colony of Chinese origin people at Tangra in view of the outbreak of novel Coronavirus in China. A senior official of the State Health Department said that special vigil has been kept in the area as a precautionary measure.

The Health Department has also started special health check-up at Indo- Bangladesh boarder at Gade, Petrapole and Hili besides scanning at Kolkata and Haldia Ports. The Director of State Health Services Dr. Ajoy Chakraborty visited the border areas to take stock of the situation. Special isolation wards have been opened at Government hospitals to deal with the Corona Virus patients. The West Bengal Government has launched two helplines to provide information related to dreaded virus.
