Defiant BJP MP Kirti Azad, who took on the influential finance minister Arun Jaitley on corruption, has been suspended from party today.
A party release said, Darbhanga MP has been suspended following anti-party activities.
In a statement, the party said Mr Azad had been suspended for “anti-party activities”.
Earlier, Mr Azad had dared Mr Jaitley to file a defamation case against him after Finance Minister filed defamation case against AAP leaders including Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal for targeting him. Mr Jaitley had headed DDCA in the past.
Kirti Azad defied his party as he made corruption allegations linked to the DDCA or Delhi and District Cricket Association that Mr Jaitley headed for 13 years till 2013. After holding a press conference on Sunday, he followed it up with an open dare on social media and barbs in Parliament.
Mr Jaitley has dragged leaders of the Aam Aadmi Party, including Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, to court over their allegations against him of corruption, but he has not moved against his party colleague Mr Azad yet.
