On the fourth day of the inaugural Khelo India Tribal Games in Chhattisgarh, competitions in swimming, weightlifting, football, and wrestling will continue today.
Swimming, weightlifting, and football events will be held in Raipur, while wrestling competitions take place in Ambikapur.
In Football, four group stage matches in the Men’s category are scheduled today. The opening match will be played between West Bengal and Madhya Pradesh. Other matches will see Chhattisgarh take on Tamil Nadu, Lakshadweep face Goa, and Mizoram play against Arunachal Pradesh.
In weightlifting, finals will be held in the Women’s 69 and 77 kilogram categories and the Men’s 88 and 94 kilogram categories. Swimming finals will feature the Men’s and Women’s 100-metre freestyle, 50-metre backstroke, and the four by 100 metre medley relay.
The Games began on 25th of this month and will continue till 3rd of April, with over 3,000 athletes from 30 states and Union Territories competing across seven disciplines, including archery, athletics, football, hockey, swimming, weightlifting, and wrestling. Mallakhamb and kabaddi are featured as demonstration sports.
