Kerala’s COVID-19 infection graph is on a rise as 83 new cases were confirmed today. Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan informed that 62 persons recovered from disease today.

The total active COVID cases in the state rose to 1,258. The death toll due to COVID in the state reached 19. Mr Vijayan said that as the situation is getting serious and as the virus is going to stay for more time, the COVID preventive guidelines in the state are being revised along with strengthening of surveillance.

For people coming from outside the state, registration will continue to be compulsory along with quarantine details.The guidelines determining containment zones is also revised to tighten the preventive measures.

Chief Minister also said that massive awareness will also be done on strict quarantine rules. Meanwhile as monsoon intensifies in Kerala, Met Department has predicted heavy rain for coming four days in the state. Yellow is issued in four districts for tomorrow.
