Kerala continues to witness surge in Covid figures as it confirmed 6,238 new infection cases on Sunday. A total of 54,108 samples were tested in the last 24 hours. The test positivity rate has also increased to 11.52 percent. 30 deaths were also confirmed due to COVID today, taking the total death toll to 49,591 in the state. Bringing respite, 2390 recoveries were also reported today. At present, 34,902 is the active caseload in the state.
Meanwhile, about 99 per cent of the people eligible for vaccination in the state have been administered with the first dose of Covid vaccine and 81 percent have been vaccinated with two doses.
