Karnataka Industry department has invited global toy makers to set up their manufacturing units in the toy manufacturing cluster situated in Koppal in North Karnataka. The cluster is said to be first of its kind in India.
Industry department held a webinar yesterday with a panel of leading toys manufacturers on establishing India as a Global Toy Manufacturing Hub in line with Prime Minister’s call to promote Vocal for Local under Atma Nirbhar Bharat campaign.
The Principal Secretary in the Commerce and Industries department Gaurav Gupta said that Karnataka offers world class machine tools infrastructure and favourable labour laws for the toy manufacturers.
Karnataka is the third largest market for toys in India, holding 9.1 per cent share and the toy industry in the State is expected to reach USD 310 million by 2023.
