Terrorists fired upon a civilian from minority community Shri Puran Krishan Bhat in Jammu and Kashmir while he was on way to his orchard in Chowdari Gund village of south Kashmir’s Shopian district this afternoon.
Police said that Puran Krishan Bhat was immediately evacuated and shifted to hospital for treatment. However, he succumbed to his grievous injuries. The area has been cordoned off and a massive manhunt was launched by security forces to nab the assailants.
Meanwhile, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha has strongly condemned the attack on Puran Krishan Bhat and has described it as a dastardly act of cowardice.
In his message, he has expressed his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and assured the people that the perpetrators and those aiding and abetting terrorists will be severely punished.
