The residence of Jammu and Kashmir Education Minister and government spokesman Naeem Akhtar in Srinagar was reportedly attacked by petrol bombs by unknown people late last night.

This is the 4th attack on PDP leaders in the Valley since the unrest began. Last Saturday, Akhtar’s cavalcade was attacked by protesters who hurled stones on his vehicle.

Meanwhile, normal life continues to remain affected in Kashmir. Curfew continues in Anantnag town while restrictions under Section 144 remain in force in Pulwama, Kulgam and Shopian districts of south Kashmir. Police and paramilitary personnel have been deployed to maintain law and order.
