The gunfight between security forces and terrorists in Athwajan Pantha Chowk area on the outskirts of Srinagar has ended with the killing of two terrorists. Two army personnel were also injured in the operation. The identity of the killed terrorists is being ascertained.
A gunfight broke out around midnight hours between the security forces and terrorists hiding inside the Delhi Public School, DPS, building. Last evening the terrorists took shelter inside the DPS building after attacking a CRPF vehicle on the Srinagar-Jammu highway in Pantha Chowk. CRPF sub inspector was killed and another jawan sustained injuries in the attack. LeT claimed responsibility of the attack.
Meanwhile, The wreath laying ceremony of CRPF sub inspector, who lost his life in the attack, took place in Srinagar today.
The mortal remains of the martyr was transported from Delhi to his hometown Gorakhpur in Uttar Pradesh via helicopter.
