The administration in Kashmir Valley has sanctioned 125 community bunkers with an aim to build shelters and safeguard human lives from the arbitrary shelling by Pakistan.

The bunkers have been sanctioned for Kupwara and Baramulla district of North Kashmir. These bunkers have been sanctioned to these districts because of proximity to the Line of Control (LoC).

As per divisional commissioner Kashmir, Baseer Ahmad Khan, the bunkers will be built in these districts as these are prone to cross-border shelling.

The bunkers will be built at the cost of 25 crore Rupees. Previously, the same number of community bunkers was also sanctioned for district Bandipora.
