Jammu and Kashmir DGP Dilbag Singh has directed the police personnel to intensify counter-insurgency operations in the Union Territory to neutralize the remaining terrorists.
He was chairing a meeting of the District Police officers and other senior Police officers to review the crime and security situation at Awantipora, Kashmir yesterday. He said, a large number of terrorists were gunned down in the recent operations launched in Kashmir Valley.
He asked the police personnel to continue with similar operations in future also. Referring to the recent successful encounter at Ban Toll Plaza in Jammu and the arrest of Jaish-e-Mohammad terrorists, the DGP stressed for smashing terrorists’ network effectively. He said that priority is to identify the inter-district terrorist network and the elements facilitating the movement of terrorists so as to uproot them.
