President’s rule comes into force in Jammu And Kashmir from midnight tonight as Ram Nath Kovind signed a proclamation to this effect on Wednesday.
Six-months of Governor’s rule comes to an end on December 19.
Governor’s rule was imposed in the Jammu and Kashmir after the state plunged into political turmoil following BJP withdrawal of its support to the PDP-BJP ruling coalition, reducing PDP to minority.
Earlier, Union Cabinet had given its go-ahead for President’s Rule beyond December 19.
