Three Hizbul Mujhahideen militants were killed today in an encounter with security forces in Pulwama district in Jammu and Kashmir. Our correspondent reports that a joint team of police and army was conducting a search operation in Panzgam village when the hiding militants fired upon them.
An Army spokesman told media that three local Hizbul Mujahideen militants were killed in Panzgom area of Awantipora in Pulwama district in a specific midnight operation launched by Army and J&K Police. Sepoy Ramesh Chand Yadav of Army’s 21 Kumav Regiment was killed in an encounter between militants and army in Kupwara district.
The spokesman said Army yesterday foiled an infiltration bid near Line of Control in Keran sector of Kupwara district. Yesterday, three policemen and a civilian woman were wounded in a grenade blast in Chadoora area of central Kashmir’s Budgam district.
