Two civilians were killed while another injured in Pakistani shelling and firing along LoC in Rajouri district in Jammu and Kashmir today.

Defence sources told media that the Pakistani forces across the LoC started unprovoked firing targeting civilian areas and Indian positions in Naushera sector of the border district around 7 AM. The firing left three civilians injured seriously in Jhangar area.

Later two of the injured succumbed to the injury. Sources said, the Indian troops are effectively retaliating the firing. The exchange of fire was on, when reports last came in.

Schools along the LoC in Rajouri remained shut for the third consecutive day as authorities ordered their closure for an “indefinite period” as a precautionary measure after the killing of two persons in shelling by Pakistani troops today.
