The death toll in bus accident in Poonch in Jammu and Kashmir has risen to 13 with one more person succumbing to his injuries.
17 people have also received multiple injuries in the accident and condition of some of them is stated to be very critical. Four seriously injured persons were air-lifted to Government Medical College, Jammu for specialised treatment.
The accident occurred in Poonch district this morning when a passenger bus heading towards Poonch from Loran skidded off the road and fell into a deep gorge at Plera.
Meanwhile, J&K Governor Satya Pal Malik has expressed grief over the loss of lives in the tragic accident and has announced an ex-gratia of five lakh rupees to next of the kin of the deceased and fifty thousand rupees to each injured person.
