A 12-year-old boy of Saidapora Eidgah in old Srinagar, who was hit by pellets Friday evening, succumbed to his injuries on Saturday, taking the death toll in the ongoing unrest to 94. Junaid was class 7 student at New Bonvivant English School.

Shutdown across Kashmir continued for the 92nd consecutive day even as clashes were reported from various parts of Kashmir in which at least 65 people sustained injuries.

The  Saidapora boy was identified as Junaid Ahmed Akhoon son of Ghulam Muhammad Akhoon. He was hit by pellets in his head and chest by security forces at Saidapora yesterday. He was immediately shifted to SKIMS, Soura, in a critical condition. A doctor at SKIMS said, “Pellets had damaged his brain which deteriorated his condition in the night. He succumbed to his injuries at around 4 a.m.”
