The number of COVID patients in Jharkhand recovered surpassed the number of patients detected in the last 24 hours. While 44 new cases were confirmed, 122 patients won the battle against COVID-19. The recovery rate in the state has now gone up to 57.11 per cent, after a total of 1,032 recovered patients discharged from hospitals.
A total of 1,807 cases have been found positive, 766 active cases are undergoing treatment in various hospitals, while nine people died due to COVID-19 infection. The mortality rate in Jharkhand is as low as 0.49 per cent.
Principal Health Secretary Dr Nitin Kulkarni told media that there was no pendency left for testing of samples. He said, the state has a capacity of testing 3,000 samples per day and around 2,800 samples are being tested daily.
Meanwhile the state government is all set to carry out a mega door-to-door Covid-19 identification survey from June 18, state health secretary Nitin Kulkarni said on Monday.
“Besides Covid-19, people suffering from respiratory diseases, blood pressure, tuberculosis and cancer will also be under the testing scanner. Their sampling will be done on priority basis and tested accordingly,” Kulkarni said.
The week-long exercise will cover both rural and urban households. “I would like to appeal to every citizen of the state to cooperate in the exercise so that the Covid-19 could be checked completely in the state,” he said.
