India’s Jasmine Lamboria stormed into the quarterfinals of the women’s 57 kg at the Boxing World Qualifiers in Bangkok, Thailand on Saturday. She defeated Ana Marija Milisic of Switzerland with a dominating 5-nil victory in the round 16. Jasmine is one bout away from securing the Paris Olymoic quota. She will face Marine Camara of Mali in the quarterfinals.
Meanwhile, in the Men’s 57 kg category, Indian pugilist Sachin Sivach faced a defeat in the semi-finals today. He was defeated by the Tokyo Olympics silver medallist Carlo Palaam of Philippines, by a unanimous nil-5 decision. However, Sachin will face the Kyrgyz boxer Munarbek Seiitbek Uulu, the other losing semi-finalist, to secure the third and final quota in the men’s 57 kg division.
