Jairam Thakur has been sworn-in as the Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh. Governor Acharya Dev Vrat administered the oath of office and secrecy to Mr Thakur and 11 other Ministers at the Ridge Ground in Shimla today.
The Ministers who took oath include Mahendra Singh, Suresh Bhardwaj, Anil Sharma and Vipin Singh Parmar.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, BJP President Amit Shah and many other senior party leaders and Union Ministers attended the swearing-in ceremony.
Mr Thakur, a five-time MLA from Seraj in Mandi was elected the leader of the BJP legislature party on Sunday. The party had wrested power from the Congress in the state by winning 44 of the 68 Assembly seats.
