KULBHUSHANInternational Court of Justice has asked India to submit memoriels by 13th of September this year in Kulbhushan Jadhav case while Pakistan has been given time till 13th December to file counter memorials. Briefing reporters in New Delhi, External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Gopal Baglay said India had urged the ICJ for early hearing of the case during 8th June sitting. He said the 8th June sitting of the Court was not for hearing but to decide procedural issues.

The spokesperson also debunked Pakistan’s claim that India’s request seeking more time in case had been rejected by ICJ. Mr. Baglay said it is not true as India had sought four months and had got time with the court fixing the deadline in September.

Asked if the hearing in the case will begin after the submissions of the two countries, Mr. Baglay said the court will decide if it needs more submissions and then take a call on the future course of action.
