The campaigning for Gujarat Assembly polls getting murkier as a new sex CD allegedly featuring Patidar leader Hardik Patel surfaced on social media platforms.
The surfacing of the video in which Patel is seen with an unknown woman triggered a series of allegations with the Patidar leader accusing the political rivals of resorting to “dirty politics”.
In the CD, Patel is allegedly seen with the woman in a hotel room. While he had claimed that such a CD is likely to be released in the run-up to elections, reports have cited that the said CD was shot on May 16.
“Dirty politics has begun now. Defame me all you want, it makes no difference to me. But this is an insult to the women of Gujarat,” Patel tweeted.

Hardik Patel a week ago warned that the BJP would employ a “sex CD” to discredit him.
“I may be subjected to this sort of treatment but is this not derogatory to the women of Gujarat,” he asked today, adding his concern for the woman who features in the video. “The women of Gujarat should do something to punish this,” he said.
The BJP has so far refused to comment on the controversial CD, but senior leaders who asked not to be identified denied that it was leaked by them.
The Congress backed Hardik Patel’s claim. “The BJP is under pressure. It knows it’s losing ground to the Congress, and also these youngsters are aligning with us, so it’s a ploy to defame Hardik,” commented Congress spokesman Manish Doshi.
Gujarat votes on December 9 and 14; results will be declared on the 18th.
